Mosquitos & The B-52s

7/26/2004 - The Mosquitos and The B-52s at Wolf Trap. I went by subbing in. It was awesome and The Mosquitos were just great. Too bad I got a speeding, tailgating, and expired tags violation on my way home. My first ticket!

Monday July 26, 2004:
Last night was the Mosquitos and the B-52s at Wolf Trap. I normally don't go on Mondays but I went by subbing in. It was lovely! The Mosquitos were simply amazing. I fell in love with them! The girl, JuJu, is so cute! She reminds me of Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and their music was somewhat similar sounding! I picked up a cd immediately after the show. :) B-52s were fun too, so much fun! The lead guy, Fred, is so much like a slinky on stage. Very cool stuff. They had a color set very much reminiscent of a video from the Hives or Weezer. I stayed all the way through Love Shack and left before the encore. What a fabulous night! I listened to the Mosquitos cd on the way into work this morning. Too bad there's not a song on there over three minutes, and I'm not kidding! Good thing there's 15 tracks though. It's a lot softer sounding on the cd, more like the Eels or Ani DiFranco. Wonderful stuff.
