Trying so hard not to fall asleep
1/26/2018 - May is going to be crazy. Fever Ray one week and Blue October another!
5/20/2018 - Blue October tonight! First time seeing them and man this place is packed!!
Sunday May 20, 2018:

I had never seen Blue October before mostly because I was never a big fan of the venues they played. Finally I had a ticket to see them at Baltimore Soundstage! I left my apartment around 6:30 PM and barely had any traffic on the way up, which was sweet, being a Sunday and all. I got to the venue at just about 8 PM. There were a ton of people there, the place was packed! If it wasn't sold out, it probably should have been. Pretty impressive for a Sunday evening! I realized a lot of Blue October fans are pretty serious about seeing them and have seen them live 30 something times. Wow! Since this was my first time I was pretty excited. After I bought a shirt at the merch booth, I found an okay spot in the back on an elevated stage. I could sorta see the stage although some larger, taller folks were in my way. Oh well. The setlist was decent! Highlights for me included I Want It, Sway, Say It, Into The Ocean (complete with a monologue from Justin about depression and panic attacks and how you just have to try each day), Home, X Amount Of Words, and of course 18th Floor Balcony. I was hoping for the songs Congratulations, Amazing, Calling You, and Hate Me, but they never played them. The new songs I Hope You're Happy and I Wanna Come Back Home sounded pretty good live too. I was second in line for the Meet and Greet but unfortunately Baltimore Soundstage were jerks and didn't let anyone take any photos, only signing stuff was allowed!! So I thanked Justin for the music and he said it was the venue's fault about no photos and they were trying to close up. Ugh. But I got my ticket signed and a nice promo flyer too, so yay. Glad to say I have finally seen Blue October and I'm looking forward to the next show if I can make it! Pretty cool how all ages it was, I saw old folks in the crowd, and really young people too. Cool!
