This Is Truly A Garage Mahal
3/25/2013 - The Corner Store Heroes reunion show is going to be a great, super small gig. Really looking forward to this one!
3/29/2013 - Can't wait to see Corner Store Heroes tonight in Silver Spring!
3/30/2013 - Corner Store Heroes and all the bands that played last night were all so amazing. I so needed a 4-hour ska gig. Just wow.
Friday March 29, 2013:

This was really a neat show all around. I had been following Kill Lincoln here and there, having seen them already at the Ottobar and at a DC9 event, so I was psyched to see them again. I wasn't sure what to make of the venue. It was basically an actual garage, in the middle of nowhere. I got there okay. The neat thing about this show was that it was free but felt like it was worth a ton more than that. All of the bands were related. Some guys would play in more than one band. Kill Lincoln and Your Cousin Marvin also included guys from Corner Store Heroes. Basically, this was a reunion show, their one and only trip back to a time I didn't know about, but was soon to find out. Songs covered that night by all three bands included Danzig's Mother, Sublime's Smoke Two Joints, Seal's Kiss From A Rose, and Operation Ivy's Knowledge. At one point, a girl fell down and got back up with a bleeding mouth, but everyone was right by her side. The rest of the audience was cool and the show was a total blast.
