Dropkick Murphys: A Teenage Wasteland
2/2/2004 - Dropkick Murphys at Nation!! Tickets just bought, $50 for two including service charge, damn!
Friday February 6, 2004:

I decided on leaving home around 7 and got to Nation roughly around 8. Frisked upon entrance, the bouncer made me take out my wallet and keys and even took my small swiss army knife. I can understand why but seriously! Such stupid rules! I had made it there in good time and the spot I picked had a decent viewing area. Unfortunately, there were lights that were in the way which was annoying. It was so hot and stuffy too! I felt like I was in a prison. The walls went up high and there were these chain-link fences that people hung over during the show. Dropkick Murphys deserved a smaller club. After the first couple of songs and a rather lengthy intro, I went back to the couches area which was a lot better. I knew what it was like and didn't have to stand between two smoky people to watch through lights that weren't on anyway. Dropkick Murphys were just okay. Their set sounded like one long song. I didn't know enough of their music but I did recognize a few songs. They covered the Who's Baba O Riley, which was pretty cool I guess.
