| 9/11/2009 - I'm going to Edguy tonight at Jaxx. I love Jaxx. The parking is so easy! It's not too far and it's a fun place to see a show!

Friday September 11, 2009:
While I had been really excited for Edguy coming to Jaxx for a while now, even though I didn't buy my ticket in advance, I still went. I got there in time to see the opening act Luna Mortis, a female-fronted thrash band, sort of like Kittie. A few songs into their set, my friend Brittany showed up. We hung out by the merch booth for a bit. In between Luna Mortis and Epicurean, we had a drink at the back bar. Epicurean was okay, another thrash band. Edguy exceeded every expectation I had for them live! All the way from Germany, their power metal of a band reminded me of Iron Maiden. They had amazing crowd interaction, split the room with sing-a-longs, fist-pumping heys, and a lengthy drum solo. Songs included Sacrifice and Superheroes from Rocket Ride. Save Me was another highlight of the show. They also played Ministry Of Saints. Jaxx's free parking made up for the $27 price tag. The singer apparently loved being in Springfield as he talked about how there was a Springfield in every state and how New York didn't deserve Edguy as much as we did. Brittany left a bit early, but after that I grabbed a seat by the bar. It was a bit better of a view and I managed to grab some more good pictures, too.
