Anywhere You Go I'll Follow You Down
2/16/2019 - Was debating going out but so glad I did! A friend from my Meetup group saved me a prime spot on the balcony so I was able to show up just before the Gin Blossoms came on and not have to wait forever! What a great show!!
Saturday February 16, 2019:

I had napped a little longer than intended but woke up in time to still have dinner and take my dog out. I left home around 8 PM as the show was scheduled to go on at 9. I love how I don't have to Lyft to the State Theater as it's only a 20 minute ride over and there's always plenty of street parking only a short walk to the club. I also had a friend from my Meetup group who was there with her friend and since they had VIP tickets they were there super early and got a great spot on the balcony! So that was so nice not to have to wait forever for the show since I've done that so many times before for shows there. The spot I had was perfect and couldn't have asked for a better seat in the house. I came in just as Punchline was finishing up and heard them do a cover of the song Linger by The Cranberries. My friend said they have some dog photo contest to have all fans dog photos be entered for one of their music videos. I'll have to check that out! Gin Blossoms came on right around 9 PM and played a few new songs then went right into New Miserable Experience in its entirety with plenty of shout outs to Doug, who was a former band member and wrote a lot of their songs before he died. It was great to see them play New Miserable Experience in its entirety, so many classic songs on that album including Hey Jealousy, Mrs Rita, Until I Fall Away, Found Out About You, Allison Road, Til I Hear It From You. Then for their encore they came back out and did an amazing Radiohead cover of Fake Plastic Trees which was done so well and is such a hard song to do! And of course they played Follow You Down. I was glad to have gone after all and even picked up a pretty cool looking shirt on the way out! The guitar they had up for auction for prison reform through music was up to $800 already by the time I left. Nice!
