Make Yourself 20 Years And Beyond

5/14/2019 - A nice start to the week, I locked in my ticket yesterday to go see INCUBUS at the Warner Theater on October 12th, one week before my birthday!

Saturday October 12, 2019:
Incubus was one of those bucket list bands for me for sure! I booked my ticket before they announced a second night but I was glad to get in on the first night. What a set list! Wow! I got to the venue at around 7:45 PM. Lyft was a little sketchy as the nearest driver was 10 minutes away but luckily I got there on time all the same. I bought a t shirt once inside the venue and was surprised the line was pretty long for that. My seat was in the upper balcony level but it was still a decent view as I was dead center. My neighbor buddy Brent and his date showed up right as the show began and were able to sit with me for a good five songs until the real seat holders came and they had to go back to their section. The first eight songs or so were all from Make Yourself, so Privilege, Nowhere Fast, Consequence, The Warmth, When It Comes, Stellar, and Make Yourself were awesome. Then came Drive, I Miss You, and Pardon Me, wohoo! They ended strong with Warning, Anna Molly, and Wish You Were Here. Pardon Me was a cool highlight because Brandon and the guitarist did an acoustic version for most of the song before breaking out into the rock part of it. There was a really cool DJ solo too. What a great show! As I left I picked up my resqme keychain as security confiscated it since it has a blade inside. At least I got it back. There was an impromptu brass band playing outside the venue and everyone was dancing. I walked over to the Washington Monument and met up with some friends, one girl was visiting from Detroit so we all hit a bar in Columbia Heights before going home and since one of the guys was from my neck of the woods we split a cab home. What an evening indeed!!
