How pointless is my point of view until I reach the point of you?

11/9/2018 - Kevin Griffin from Better Than Ezra was so amazing at the new DC City Winery! Ryanhood was also a great opener! What an amazing first time at the venue! I wish it was just a tad bit easier to get to but still, so much fun!!

Friday November 9, 2018:
I had to fight the rain and the traffic by hopping in a $22 shared Lyft instead of getting a solo ride which would have been $45 to the venue! My driver was pretty cool on the way over. He was my age, so he knew the band Better Than Ezra. We had to drop someone off at the Wharf and then in DC and then finally I got there about 10 minutes before Ryanhood came on! Ryanhood was really a great opening act. I especially loved their song Stopless with the lyrics: How pointless is my point of view until I reach the point of you? They got the crowd going and were really excited to be there! Kevin opened with his most popular song first, Good. Then went into This Time Of Year, a bit of Purple Rain (by saying he saw Prince at the 9:30 Club once as a surprise guest!), an 867-5309/Jenny cover, then back to Desperately Wanting and right into a cover of the Gorillaz Feel Good! Porcelain was amazing since the guys from Ryanhood came back on and sang with Kevin. Extra Ordinary was great as well, then he went into What I Got from Sublime mixed in with a bit of Shaggy! Then a great cover of Howie Day's Collide. Juicy was really fun. Then another melody of songs including Take On Me by Aha, Just Like Heaven by The Cure, I Ran by Flock Of Seagulls, Tainted Love by Soft Cell, a bit of The Smiths, a random OPP reference, and even Modern English's Melt With You. He ended the set with In The Blood. I had two glasses of wine and a beet dip for $50 with tip. Kind of pricey including the Lyft rides, but it was worth it! I had a really fun Lyft ride back. Someone else from the show was going back to Virginia so they hopped in my cab and we picked up someone else on the way. The driver was Iranian and we were talking about Crystal Shitty and the difference between holla and halal. Haha!
