Back In The Day

5/16/2008 - I have been Facebook messaging with Mike from Wolf Trap about the Local H show in DC this week. Not sure if I'm going yet. If I do go, I can't spend all my money on a Local H shirt this time! I'd rather not walk home again!

Friday May 16, 2008:
I got to Mike's by 8:30 PM, perfect. His roommate was out of town so he even had an extra parking space I could use. I dropped off my keys on his counter and we hit up Subway for a quick bite to eat and took Metro to Union Station where we cabbed it over to the club for about $12. The place was already packed. Mike seemed pretty intent on staying on the floor, so I was glad when Ryan showed up. I was especially glad to have invited Ryan along given the fact that he was moving soon to Cincinnati. It felt like old times. Mike looked exhausted by the time we all met up for the show itself. Mike said he hadn't seen a mosh pit that pushy since Gwar. At least it was pretty easy to stay out of it unlike some other Local H shows. They started out real strong and it was a good set until they played a bunch of older stuff that was really obscure. They didn't even play Bound For The Floor. But, they did Fritz's Corner and Hi Fivin Mother Fucker. I also ran into a guy I went to high school with! In true Local H tradition, the three of us walked home. Only to Mike's place, but it took about an hour or so. Mike played his guitar back at his place, I dropped Ryan back at his place, and then hit the road home. I was glad I brought earplugs, I was surprised they didn't sell them there!
