Another Drinking Song
3/23/2019 - What a fun day at Shamrockfest 2019 with Nick! Wohoo! Mighty Mighty Bosstones for the 3rd time live for me, first and a bucket list band for him!
Saturday March 23, 2019:

This was a fun day! I was a bit concerned with past reviews of this event being pretty bad and I remember when I first came to the DC area going to events like this (maybe it was even Shamrock Fest back then too) that were kind of disappointing, but this one was put together really well! Nick and I met up around 2:30 at my place and took a Lyft over to RFK and got there by 3 PM. Flatfoot 56 were on and sounded pretty good. After Flatfoot 56 we walked around a bit and over to the side stage for RDGLDGRN a decent reggae band. Then back over to the main stage for some Mahones, another punk band. Then finally the Mighty Mighty Bosstones were on and they sounded great! They opened with Rascal King being the second song. Other notable songs included Graffiti Worth Reading, Someday I Suppose, Everybody Better, Simmer Down, Another Drinking Song, You Left Right, Where'd You Go, Unified (a new track), Wonderful Day For The Race, The Impression That I Get, Don't Worry Desmond Dekker, and to close they played You Gotta Go. They also threw in a neat cover of I Can See Clearly Now. I saw Steve Jackson of the Pietasters join in for a song or two, pretty cool! Definitely worth going despite all the teenage kids and smoke everywhere. Fun times!!
