I was pretty psyched to check out Columbia Pike's Blues Festival since it was right in my neighborhood, about a 45 minute walk up the road but still, a place I could go and have a meal and a drink and hang out listening to awesome local blues bands. These guys blew me away. Lana, the singer, has an amazing voice and I was so impressed! I didn't care much for anyone else's set, but they really made a big impression on me. Plus, you gotta love their cover of Elvis's Hound Dog. Her growl of a blues voice is that good. I wish them all the success and was super happy to see them live. Oh, but if you enter a sweepstakes, don't do what I did and be surprised when they say YOU WON! because they'll try and cheat you into a long product-bearing lecture etc. Annoying! Glad I didn't fall for that one!!
