Wednesday May 21, 2003:
Maroon 5 started off with Through With You and Into The Sun. Then they also played Harder To Breath and closed with a good cover of AC/DC's Highway To Hell, which was weird. That was the second time I'd seen them live. I was so expecting them to play She Will Be Loved but they didn't. Sugar Ray played Someday, Every Morning, Falls Apart, and a Ramones cover, Blitzkrieg Bop. They dedicated Fly to all the service men and women who gave us the freedom of speech. They also did a new song, Chasing You Around, even though Mark McGrath thought it was about a really hot chick, but it was actually about another band member's son instead! Mark ran into the crowd and asked a kid to sing 'I just want to fly' but instead he screamed into the mic. Matchbox 20 was okay. I enjoyed Real World, Disease, 3AM. Rob Thomas, the singer of Matchbox 20, dedicated the song 3AM to the 9:30 Club, which I thought was pretty cool!
