Metro Area Punk And Ska Fest 2013
6/22/2013 - Metro Area Punk And Ska Fest 2013! Interstate Rivals and Thirteen Towers, yay!
Saturday June 22, 2013:

So I managed to drive through DC after having gone out the night before and a two hour nap during the day, not too bad! Got to the venue, a nice little art studio, by about 5:15. The second band or so had already been playing a bit when I walked in. It was loud! The average age there was probably 16, I felt SO old. The music wasn't that bad, though. Interstate Rivals were pretty good ska punk stuff. They had a great drummer though. Sweat Life was okay, they played a cool Nirvana cover. They also did a Smashmouth Walking On The Sun cover which was fun. Thirteen Towers was great. It was my second time seeing them and I do like that band. They played a Rancid cover which was fun and their Facebook Whore song is a good one, too. All in all, for $8 not a bad way to spend a Saturday afternoon! And I got a couple of stickers and a CD or two, so not bad at all!
