You're a god and I am not and I just thought I'd let you go
1/18/2019 - Had a fun day today checking out a new Asian cafe near work, then trekking into DC for the Vertical Horizon gig with Kelly at the new DC City Winery! What a fun show and I even had cheesecake for dessert! Yum!
Friday January 18, 2019:

My friend and I planned this one out pretty well, although traffic around the Washington DC area is always hit or miss! I got off work in Reston around 5 PM, hit the road, home by 6:15 and had barely enough time to feed the dog and take her out. I ended up doing Lyft pool again and this time I had a nice companion who worked at the NIH building so it was neat to talk healthcare with him on the way! I made it to the venue about 10 minutes before my friend did so that was kind of funny considering how much back and forth I had to do to get there. The show itself was great and we had seats right up front, the second table in. Songs played included Best I Ever Had, I'm Still Here, The Man Who Would Be Santa, Lovestruck (I liked the Depeche Mode references), You're A God, and of course Everything You Want. I went into the show thinking I only knew Everything You Want but I was surprised to recognize You're A God too. I didn't realize the singer is from Worcestor Massachusetts! And he lived in the Washington DC Georgetown area for a while. Pretty cool! I had a cheesecake at the Winery since last time I overspent there and the cheesecake was perfect although it did take a while for the service. The Lyft home was only $15 for a solo so that was nice not to have to share again! Not a bad night at all and what a way to bring in 2019!!
