When The Red And The Black venue merged with The Palace, they became one place called The Red Palace. Lia Ices had that Regina Spektor/Tori Amos feel but with a lot of her own style mixed in. I got there early enough to get street parking right out front! I actually had to wait an hour and ended up missing dinner because the venue didn't serve any food. The show itself was great, though. I didn't remember what songs exactly she played, but she did mention it was her first-ever performance in the DC area and that she was originally from New York City. Her brother was in the band too and their parents were at that show as well. The audience only consisted of 50 people or so. A very small place. After the show, I had to get a picture with her. She was very patient with me since my cameraphone was not working for about twenty tries! In the end, we finally got a really good picture together! I left before the last band came on, as it was getting rather late. Still, I was glad to have gone!
