Early Morning Mist 5/5/2012
I wish I could write something profound but I can hardly keep my feet on the ground.
It's like the sun that never appears or the wind that never draws too near.
To blow me away to far away lands that probably don't exist.
I only see the broken apart early morning mist.
The dew on the grass is only meant to last in the past.
The future dawns a new day but today is only here for now.
There are things I wish I could write but it wouldn't be right.
What I have today I only hear in sight.
For a brief moment I feel as if everything is fine.
You are mine.
And then my feet slip.
The mist breaks.
The dawn shudders.
The mountains shake.
I feel a poem coming on!
I feel a novel a book.
It's time I lead my horse to drink water from the brook.
Around the corner I see the coroner.
The street takes from my feet a multitude of heap.
The coffin drawn, the body laid flat.
And that's the end of that!
