That Other Part Of Me 11/15/2009
That other part of me that was once there, is now on paper, contracted from thin air.
I wonder where, I wonder how, and I struggle, unfair!
Tying my shoes together at the same time.
Figure eights on their side like laughter in the summertime.
Only it's winter now, it has yet to snow.
But when it does I'll know.
I haven't written in a while.
But when I do, it helps my mind's eye, and I help I.
Sometimes I laugh, sometimes I cry.
Sometimes I drink, sometimes I think.
Sometimes you think for me.
And that's the funny thing about life.
You never know how or where or when.
The next phase will come.
But maybe you do and can't help it.
Maybe you're weak and don't show it.
Maybe you're just hungover, hung up.
Maybe you just don't give a damn.
I did once.
