Steve Miller Band at Wolf Trap
Saturday August 27, 2005:
I subbed in last night at Wolf Trap for Steve Miller Band. They were the one and only band to perform at Wolf Trap last night, which surprised me because they pulled a pretty hefty crowd. I was really not that impressed by them, they hardly moved, the only saving grace was their songs (which are indeed good, but get tiring). They started to pick it up by the end, but I missed the last couple of songs. They did open with Swingtown, and played Abracadabra, along with Fly Like An Eagle. Fly Like An Eagle featured a freestyle rap which was weird but I actually liked that bit. After seeing Alice Cooper, Steve Miller totally sucked in comparison, but on their own for a show like that? It was just different. Good for them if they like to play like that and it earns them money, but I really can't see how.
