Saturday August 25, 2018:
After having missed Striking Matches the first few times around by finding out about their local shows too late, I was glad to finally see them! They were every bit as good as I had expected! Megan Davies was also a great opening act. I got to the venue just about 7:15 and only had to wait until 7:30 or so for the first performer to start. I didn't recognize any songs but I did like the few that she played. Only Us, Bad Poetry, and a song about getting high that she said was really about getting high on life cause her Mom was in the audience. Striking Matches came on around 8:30 and played a full hour. They did a bunch of old songs, new songs, and a few covers. Old songs included Hangin On A Lie, When The Right One Comes Along, and closed with Trouble Is As Trouble Does. Newer songs included Medicine and Shameless. Cover songs included Rick Astley's Never Gonna Give You Up, and an awesome cover of Cream's Crossroads. They were amazing! And I got a photo with them after the show too!!
