Crossing The Street 3/23/2003
I'm crossing the street.
I see lucky rabbit feet.
They stare back at me in disbelief.
Then I notice a Joker's motive.
He smiles with a case of spades nearby.
It's dark but I can still see him smile.
The devil appears in the pale moonlight.
And she laughs and laughs and laughs.
My throat quenches, my ears tingle, my spine crumbles.
But I'm still here.
Crossing the street, one step at a time.
