LDE At Clarendon Grill
7/18/2003 - Tomorrow I'm going to check out Live On Penn to see The Lloyd Dobler Effect. They rock! I just listened to their CD Ecstacy Sold Here to psych me up for the show. Can't wait!
8/14/2003 - Lloyd Dobler Effect show coming up tonight in Arlington, cover charge is only $5 so yeah. They always put on an excellent show! And after all the crap in Florida, yeah a concert would be kick ass!
9/23/2003 - Blocktoberfest is coming up fast. About time to go see another Lloyd Dobler Effect show! I gotta check to see if Ryan and Courteney are gonna come too or not.
Thursday August 14, 2003:

Wow. I finally found the Clarendon Grill at around 9:45 and I did find a place to park after all, only a few blocks away. I came in and they were playing A Million Ways. The first set was awesome. The venue was small, only a handful of people on the floor, more up in the back where the bar was. It was great to let loose! I talked to Phil in between the first and second set. He remembered me from Live On Penn just a few weeks earlier. He told me he's dating this girl for two years and he's not sure when he was going to propose to her. That was something even the band didn't know! I told him I really liked their hip hop tune that Rusty rapped in. He said it was called Control on their CD Left Footprints which was produced in the studio, unmixed, and hardly anyone had a copy of it. He gave me a copy! They did lots of covers including their usual EU Doin The Butt. They also did Rusted Root's Send Me On My Way, Sublime's Badfish, and Tainted Love by Soft Cell too! It was a long night but it was cool to hang out with everyone. The only downside was all the damn smoking going on around me. I definitely got a big headache!

From Phil's blog: Tonight was easily the most fun that I have ever had at The old Clarendon Grill. Tonight was the first time that we have ever hired a sound company to run sound for us at Clarendon and I think that we had a much louder and much more "full" sound for everyone in the crowd. I would like to thank our fans from Boston who came all the way down for the show tonight! Tonight our good friend EDDIE from JUNIPER LANE sat in with us and sang on Meet Me In London and our other good friend, DOUG ROCK (not related to Eddie) sat in on a few songs on saxophone.
