Time To Exist 6/2/1998
Travel, up to the top.
The door meets the traveler.
Rocks stand in the way, the way of travel.
The top of the steep climb could be reached with will and energy.
Whoever does not have this will will not make it.
They will die.
But they will die trying.
The travelers who do not survive will go crazy before they die.
The minds they have will drive them off the cliff to smash into the rocks below.
A traveler begins this climb, the treacherous journey.
He knows the result if he does not survive.
Yet he does not fear for he is young energetic and willing.
He is unaware of the exact rules of the game.
The traveler reaches the midpoint in his climb, sweaty, hot, an adult.
He drinks some water to ease his pain that begins to grow.
The throbbing echoes throughout his body.
The everlasting aches pierce and stab him everywhere.
But he knows he has to continue because he now knows the rules.
Soon he nears the end, he carries a cane, he has to bend.
His aches increase and he is ready to give up.
However, he finds the door, at the top.
He turns the knob on the door but finds it locked.
Confused, he frantically tries to catch visions of his life as they flash by.
But visions are illusions and the past is no longer the present.
He realizes that his past present was wasted.
The traveler's life was not lived to the fullest, it was passed by for the future.
