Although I was watching The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel on Amazon, I was lucky to stop in time to catch the Black Moods last few songs as they opened for Candlebox in Phoenix last night! The Black Moods were pretty cool. I liked how they explained their band name by saying how they would report someone as being outside with the black moods, or drugs. Then Candlebox finally came on! They played a few okay songs but then really kicked it in with Cover Me being pretty early. Breathe Me In was also played which was great. It's always a little weird to see online shows from other parts of the world as this was in Phoenix and Kevin was talking about the hot summers there. He seemed a bit drunker than the time I saw him play at Jammin Java a few years ago. It was nice to have already met him and seen the show in person! I was so glad they attempted to play Consider Us at this show but it was too emotional for Kevin and he had to stop halfway through even after a second attempt! I didn't mean to but I fell asleep watching on my couch since it was almost 2 in the morning, but at least I woke up in time for Far Behind, the song they like to close with. They also did their song Change which was another classic from the 90s. It was fun to see them again from the comfort of my home and I am always grateful when shows like this are livestreamed. Plus, this one ran through the whole thing with no buffering hiccups! Woohoo!
