Saturday January 10, 2015:
I was a bit hesitant to get tickets for this show mainly because it was my 10th time seeing them. It also felt weird spending $15 a ticket when I've seen them so many times in the past for free. Parking at the 9:30 club was a sweet deal in the back lot. We got there early enough to have Ethiopian food at Etete on U Street. The opening act, Askultura, was just okay. Their last song was fun with chants from the crowd. Steve Jackson even appeared too! What was up with that washboard guy though? Meh. We got a nice compliment from a couple behind us on the balcony who said that we were the cutest couple dancing there! The Pietasters were my first show ever at the 9:30 club, so it was pretty sweet to bring things full circle. I especially enjoyed Maggie Mae and Girl Take It Easy again.
