Tuesday May 5, 2009:
After gym, I swung by the bank, and then I was off to the State Theater over in Falls Church to see Vast. I got there by 8 PM just in time to see the opening band, Into The Presence. I sat down at the bar by the main entrance and had a nice chicken cesar wrap. I decided not to have a beer because drinking after gym just wasn't a good idea. I did manage to bring enough money for a Me And You CD, which was Vast's latest. It was basically another version of the Generica volumes that Jon had been releasing. Nothing really new, but the songs sounded so much clearer. I finished my wrap just as the first band was finishing up. This was my fourth time seeing Vast and my third at the State Theater. The only gripe I had with the band was that it was pretty much cut and dry that they just play the songs, didn't have too much energy, and didn't interact with the crowd too much. But Jon had an awesome voice and they really did have great songs so it was still a great show and I'd go again next time they come back if my schedule allowed it!
